COVID-19 – Site Visits Social Distancing Approach
The Cheshire Garden takes the health and safety of its subcontractors, collaborators, and clients seriously. Given the current pandemic situation with COVID-19 and the current Government Guidance we are having to apply a greater number of checks to the situations in which we put ourselves. We are carrying on as far as possible with business as usual and completing consultations, site surveys, visits associated with project administration and planting.
We are carrying out risk assessments specifically relating to COVID-19 and these are incorporated into our Site Risk Assessment documentation.
If a task requires 2 people, then we are adhering to the social distancing rules of working more than 2 metres apart and subcontractors and collaborators travel separately to site.

For site visits to private properties occupied at the time of the visit, we, our subcontractors and collaborators will not need to enter your property to carry out any work. The only circumstances they may need to use the property would be to access the rear of the property if no side access is available or to use welfare facilities, such as to wash hands or to use the toilet. In such circumstances they will wear a face covering, avoid touching surfaces and, if using the toilet, will wash their hands thoroughly, wipe down surfaces, use separate paper towels and wash or dispose of them safely after use.
We, our subcontractors and collaborators will make ourselves/themselves known on arrival but will not require any direct contact with individuals. We/they may need to work close to the building footprint for some parts of the work. If you will be at home during the site visit, we ask that you always observe social distancing measures and keep at least 2m away from the workers. They will equally observe these measures.
If on or before the date of the planned site visit, anyone living at the property has symptoms of COVID-19 and are self-isolating, we ask that we are notified of this as soon as possible. In such circumstances the site visit will need to be postponed until all members of the household have completed their isolation period. Please contact us on 07534 414909 to notify us and to rearrange the works. Site visits cannot be undertaken where members of a household are shielding, and works can only be undertaken once those restrictions are lifted.
Site meetings on arrival will be limited to those circumstances where the work is more complex and specific instructions are required to ensure the work meets the needs of the client. The meeting will be held outside and limited to walking the site to receive instruction. Only one person should meet with one of our workers. A 2m distance will always be observed. The meeting would be cancelled if either party develops symptoms of COVID-19 after being arranged.
We are grateful for your understanding in this important matter and appreciate your support in safeguarding the health of all concerned parties and contributing to the efforts to contain the outbreak.
